Usually every year all the educational institutes in the Tiruvarur district are closed to celebrate the Jambuvanodai Sheikh Dawood Andavar Dargah festival at Muthuppet.
Accordingly, the district collector has issued an order to give a holiday on December 5 due to the Dargah festival this year. Thousands of Muslims from all over the country visit Tiruvavur district to witness the Chandanakudu event, the main event of the 14-day Ganduri festival.
