• It does not need to be limited to Submarines or military nuclear facilities. We are interested in candidates who come from industries such as civil nuclear, oil & gas, chemical process or rail.
• Have a broad understanding of safety case methods, principles, structures and management.
• Ideally be qualified to at least degree level in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
• Ideally be of Chartered Engineer status or working towards this qualification.

• Candidates should have working with nuclear component and system design engineers, to develop and maintain nuclear plant or nuclear facility safety cases covering operating, shutdown and maintenance conditions.
• Undertaking hazard identification and analysis of faults and hazards, including consideration of consequences to workers and the public, failure modes and failure frequencies associated with systems, components and operator errors.
• Carrying out numerical assessment of risk from normal and accident conditions and comparing against relevant legislative criteria.
• Developing ALARP arguments supporting nuclear safety cases.
