New Dedicated Website for Remdesivir Medicine Reservation: Tamil Nadu government has launched a new website for the Remdesivir medicine reservation. Recently the government has released a new order to prevent the direct selling of the drug. The new order has come into effect from today (May 18). Remdesivir Is Not For Direct Sale:
Recently the Tamil Nadu government has announced that the direct selling of the drug Remdesivir will be stopped in order to prevent huge crowd in the medical centers. Remdesivir is the drug which slightly effective in treating infections in oxygen therapy patients only and others will not benefit greatly. So, there many people has came and soured the medical centers without any social distancing. This may cause the spread of COVI 19. To prevent this situation, the Tn government has made the decision to stop the direct selling for Remdesivir. The TN government hopes that the decision will reduce the black market selling of the drug.
So, in order to reduce the inconvenience to the general public, MK Stalin advised that the current system should be changed and that medicine should be provided only through hospitals.
The New Order of CM:
As per the new order of CM, the families of the infected shouldn’t be given a prescription to buy it by the hospitals. But the private hospitals that are treating patients have to procure the medicine by sending their own representatives to the centers allotted by the government.
Website Details:
Before sending their representative, they need to enter the data of need of the medicine in a new dedicated website. The government has launched the dedicated website now. In order to facilitate the dispensing of medicines, all private hospitals in Tamil Nadu are directed to report the need for medicine along with the details of the patients receiving oxygen treatment in their hospitals in the portal. The reservation of the medicine will be dome through the website http://ucc.uhcitp.in/form/drugs. This will be monitored by the Medical and Public Welfare Department officials.
