The Kerala Government has announced that, all the educational institutions to be converted into co-ed by next year. This order came from the child rights panel. The child rights panel says all the educational institutions in Kerala to be mixed schools or co-ed by the next year. From now on the only boys and only girl’s school should be a thing of the past. According to the order of Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, there will be no only boys and only girl’s school in kerala at the year 2023-24.

The government get starting to working on it. This order has come after a plea which was given by Dr Isaac Paul of Anchal in Kollam District. And now the Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has advised the Principal Secretary of General Education and Directors of the Public Education and the State Council for Education, Research and Training (SCERT) to work it on.  This action plan orders the Kerala government to stop the only boys and only girls school first.

Then the implementation of co-ed system report should be submitted to the Commission as per the order. After that, the co-educational system should be implemented in the whole state. Moreover, the order explains that, the government should not only to implement the co -educational  system in schools, but also consider the basic amenities such as toilets and infrastructure so on. Except this, the students’ parents must be aware of the need of co-education. According to a report, there are 280 girls’ schools and 164 boys’ schools in Kerala state.
