The Project Technical Officer position under the project titled “Effect of Peer Volunteer Led Intervention on addressing Loneliness and its consequences among Elderly residing in Urban Field Practice Area of JIPMER, Puducherry – A Single Arm Before-After Intervention Study” funded by ICMR, in the Dept. of Preventive and Social Medicine, JIPMER to be filled purely on temporary basis for around 2.5 years (This is a THREE year research project which was initiated on 16/10/2019). Panel of recommended candidates shall be shortlisted after screening the resume, written test followed by interview and they will be engaged in the present and future vacancies of project as per requirement from time to time.

Educational Qualification

Essential: Must have passed Masters in Public Health (MPH)/ MSW from a recognized institute at the time of joining.

Desirable: 1. Work experience in community-based studies 2. Proficiency in Tamil language is desirable 3. Up to two years of work experience in public health

Pay Scale

Candidates will have a pay of Rs.3,84,000/ year in 1st year of project (i.e., Rs 32,000/ month) 4,00,680/ year in 2nd year of project (i.e., Rs 33,390/ month) 4,17,360/ year in 3rd year of project (i.e., Rs 34,780/ month) *Additional TA amount of Rs 1000/ month for 25 days of field work per month

Interested and eligible candidates may attend the written screening test followed by interview (for the shortlisted candidates) – Details attached in the Annexure 1, in the Dept. of Preventive and Social Medicine, IIIrd Floor, JISPH Building, JIPMER. The applicants are requested to bring the filled in application form (Annexure 2), bio-data with self-attested copies of testimonials, conduct certificate from the last employer and original certificates for verification.

GENERAL INSTRUCTION

Validity of the short list will be valid for twelve months from the date of publication and renewable accordingly.
Qualification and experience should be in relevant discipline/field and from an institute of repute. Experience should have been gained after acquiring the minimum essential qualification.
Qualification, experience, other terms and conditions may be relaxed/ altered at the discretion of the Project Investigator.
Upper age limit may be relaxed as per Govt. of India rules.
The posts are purely on contract basis for an external sponsored project, and no claim for any other regular post in JIPMER/ ICMR shall be entertained.
Valid email id and mobile number is compulsory.
Consolidated salary of the post may vary from time to time. No other allowance/ facilities other than consolidated salary shall be extended.
Decision of the Principal Investigator will be final.
No TA/ DA will be paid for the interview. Selected candidates, after joining duty, will be eligible for travel allowance of Rs 1000/month for 25 days of field visit in a month following recruitment.
Canvassing of any kind will lead to disqualification.
Submission of wrong or false information during the process of selection shall disqualify the candidature at any stage of recruitment and even after joining duty.
If performance of the appointee is not found satisfactory by the investigator, appointment can be terminated at any time without any notice.
The appointee may be relieved from the current job position, with 1-month prior notice, failing to do so may be held responsible for paying 1-month salary.
