IAS Status to All Departmental Officers. Chennai High Court advised a new decision to fulfill the need of Indian Administrative Service-IAS Officers in the state. The court advised the government to merge Group 1 officers with all departmental officers with IAS status. Consideration should be given to creating a Tamil Nadu administration with Group 1 officials like the Government of Kerala. The High Court judge commented on the case of 98 people seeking to be included in the state government’s civil service.

The Chennai High Court has advised that all Group 1 officers should consider creating a Tamil Nadu administration to gain IAS status. The Government of Tamil Nadu has been advised to work with all Group 1 officers to obtain IAS status. Judge M Govindaraj said it would take 30 years for the revenue department to get IAS status in 7-8 years, despite having a high record in other sectors.
