Central Government is trying to Impose a Education System based on Community in the states through a New Education Policy – TN School Education Minister Anbil Mahes Poiyali. On New Education Policy, the Central Government is trying to impose a Communal Education Program which is called in tamil “Kula Kalvi” in all the states of India said by Tamil Nadu School Educational Minister.
National Education Policy was released on July 30, 2020. It will replace the National Policy on Education, 1986. Key recommendations of the NEP include:
According to the Experts says:
- Redesigning the structure of school curriculum to incorporate early childhood care and education.
- Curtailing dropouts for ensuring universal access to education.
- Increasing gross enrolment in higher education to 50% by 2035.
- Improving research in higher education institutes by setting up a Research Foundation. In this blog, we examine the current status of education in the country in view of some of these recommendations made by the NEP.
- The formative years’ education is being called foundational learning in the NEP and its main issue is that of exclusion. The current 10+2 model will be restructured to 5+3+3+4 covering ages 3-18. While the current system includes only from age 6, the NEP includes children from age 3 onwards and it is being claimed that it is aimed at promoting better overall learning, development, and well-being.
School Education Minister Anbil Mahes Said that:
School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh has lied that the central government is trying to impose a caste education program in the states through a new education policy.
Speaking to reporters in Chennai, he said, “The Government of Tamil Nadu is determined to amend the new education policy. Holding public exams for classes 3,5 and 6 can be stressful for children. It is not our intention to act in a confrontational manner with the Central BJP government. There is a new education policy that the central government will bring in to abolish the bilingual policy and impose a trilingual policy” he said.
