On Wednesday, the Software Company Zoho announced that it would begin its global Zoho for Startups initiative with the Middle East and Africa (MEA) area. As part of this programme, Zoho offers the entrepreneurs Zoho Wallet credits as well as training, advice, and support. Any one of the 55+ business applications offered by Zoho can be purchased with the credits. This includes Zoho One, a platform that unifies more than 45 applications. In addition to community-building initiatives, Zoho works with startups through recurring, exclusive workshops alongside ecosystem partners. The ZohoCompany has observed the strongest demand for the accounting and invoicing apps, Zoho Books and Zoho Invoice, then for Zoho CRM and Cliq (team collaboration). Industry-wise, Zoho for Startups is most popular in the education sector, followed by IT services, e-commerce, and IT hardware.

According to KuppulakshmiKrishnamoorthy, global head of Zoho for Startups,

The programme is a long game for the SaaSCompany, and it has seen about 30-40% conversion in terms of startups graduating to paid users, she continued, saying that “the aim is to take Zoho for Startups anyplace where Zoho has its offices and offers its services.” Startups can rest easy knowing that their data will stay domestically because Zoho has data centres in India.
