West Bengal Govt Increased the Number of Public Holidays 2023 – Here is the Update!! West Bengal state government has released a new holiday list for the upcoming 2023 year. According to this list, about 46 holidays have been declared for all government offices in the state. Almost 11 of these public holidays fall on Sundays. In this situation, the West Bengal state government led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has decided to increase the holiday for the festival next year.

Earlier, the number of holidays granted for Hindu festivals has been announced to be doubled in the state of West Bengal from 2021 onwards. However due to covid pandemic period, these holidays are not observed. Meanwhile, it has been announced that additional holidays will be given for a few festivals including Durga Puja in the next year.

Usually, Durga Puja, which is usually a nine-day celebration, is given a holiday from the sixth day onwards. But it has been announced that the Durga Puja holidays will start on the fourth day in 2023. Due to the change in the holiday 2023, October has 13 working days and November 16 working days. Apart from this, additional holidays have been declared during the Bengali festival, Saath festival, Shivratri, and Janmashtami in the state.
