On the basis of the results of the Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2020 held by the Union Public Service Commission on 2nd February, 2020,7081 candidates with the following Roll Numbers have qualified for being interviewed by the Service Selection Board of the Ministry of Defence, for admission to (i) Indian Military Academy, Dehradun 150th Course commencing in January, 2021 (ii) Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala, Course commencing in January, 2021 (iii) Air Force Academy, Hyderabad (Pre-Flying) Training Course (209 F(P)) commencing in January, 2021 (iv) Officers Training Academy, Chennai 113th SSC Course (NT)(for Men) commencing in April, 2021 and (v) Officers Training Academy, Chennai, 27th SSC Women (Non-Technical) Course commencing in April, 2021

The candidature of all the candidates, whose Roll Numbers are shown in the lists below, is provisional. In accordance with the conditions of the admission to the examination, they are required to submit the original certificates in support of age (Date of Birth), educational qualifications, NCC (C) (Army Wing/Senior Division Air Wing/Naval Wing) etc. claimed by them along with attested copies thereof, to Army Headquarters, A.G.’s Branch/Rtg./CDSE Entry Section for males and SSC Women Entry Section for women candidates, West Block-III, Ground Floor, Wing 1, R.K. Puram, New Delhi-110066 in case of IMA/SSC as their first choice and to IHQ of MoD (Navy), DMPR (OI &R Section), Room No. 204, ‘C’-Wing, Sena Bhawan, New Delhi-110011 in case of Navy as their first choice, and to PO 3 (A) Air Headquarters, ‘J’ Block, Room No. 17, Opp.

Vayu Bhawan, Motilal Nehru Marg, New Delhi-110011 in case of Air Force as their first choice. The original Certificates are to be submitted within two weeks of completion of the SSB Interview and not later than 13th November, 2020 for AFA and not later than 01st January, 2021 for IMA and not later than 01st January, 2021 for admission to NA (1st April, 2021 in case of SSC only). The candidates must not send the original Certificates to the Union Public Service Commission.

Important Details for Selected Candidates 2020:

  • All the candidates who have successfully qualified in the written exam are required to register themselves online on the Indian Army Recruiting website joinindianarmy.nic.in within two weeks of announcement of written result. The successful candidates would then be allotted Selection Centres and dates, of SSB interview which shall be communicated on the registered e-mail ID. Any candidate who has already registered earlier on the site will not be required to do so. In case of any query/Login problem, e-mail be forwarded to [email protected].
  • In case, there is any change of address, the candidates are advised to promptly intimate directly to the Army Headquarters/Naval Headquarters/Air Headquarters as the case may be.
  • The Union Public Service Commission have a Facilitation Counter near Examination Hall Building in its Campus. Candidates may obtain any information/clarification regarding this examination on working days between 10.00 AM to 5.00 PM, in person or over telephone No.011-23385271, 011-23381125 and 011-23098543 from this Facilitation Counter. Candidates can also obtain information regarding their result by accessing UPSC website http://www.upsc.gov.in
  • The marks-sheet of candidates who have not qualified, will be put on the Commission’s website within 15 days from the date of publication of the final result of OTA (after conducting SSB Interview) and will remain available on the website for a period of 30 days.

Fee Details for UPSC CDS Selected Candidates 2020:

Candidate finally selected for training at the Indian Military Academy will be required to deposit the following amount with the Commandant on arrival:

Pocket allowance for five months – Rs. 1,000.00/- (@ Rs. 200.00 per month.)

For item of clothing and equipment Rs. 2,750.00/- (TotalRs. 3,750.00/-)

Out of the amount mentioned above the following is refundable to the cadets in the event of financial assistance being sanctioned to them.

Pocket allowance of five months Rs. 1,000.00/- (@ Rs. 200.00 per month.)

UPSC CDS General Instruction for the Selected Candidates 2020:

Before the candidate joins the Indian Military Academy.

He will be required to sign a certificate to the effect that he fully understands that he or his legal heirs shall not be entitled to claim any compensation or other relief from the Government in respect of any injury which he may sustain. In the 51 course of or as a result of the training or where bodily infirmity or death results in the course of or as a result of a surgical operation performed upon or anesthesia administrated to him for the treatment of any injury received as aforesaid or otherwise.

His parent or guardian will be required to sign a bond to the effect that if for any reason considered within his control, the candidate wishes to withdraw before the completion of the course or fails to accept a commission if offered; he will be liable to refund the whole or such portion of the cost of tuition, food, clothing and pay & allowances, received as may be decided upon by Government.

Candidates finally selected will undergo a course of training for about 18 months. Candidates will be enrolled under the Army Act as Gentlemen cadets. Gentlemen cadets will be dealt with the ordinary disciplinary purposes under the rules and regulations of the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun.

While, the cost of training including accommodations, books, uniforms, boarding and medical treatment will be borne by Government, candidates will be expected to meet their pocket expenses themselves. The minimum expenses at the Indian Military Academy are not likely to exceed Rs. 200.00 per month. If a cadet’s parent or guardian is unable to meet wholly or partly even this expenditure financial assistance may be granted by the Government. Gentlemen/Lady Cadets undergoing training at Indian Military Academy, Officers’ Training Academy and corresponding training establishments in Navy and Air Force, in whose cases the income of parents/guardians does not exceed Rs. 1,500/- (under revision) per month are eligible for financial assistance. In case of parents/guardians whose income exceeds Rs. 1,500/- (under revision) per month but does not exceed Rs. 2,000/- (under revision) per month, the same financial assistance will be given in respect of all the sons/wards if there are more than one son/ward simultaneously undergoing training in one or more than one of the above institutions irrespective of the upsc whether the institutions are under the same service or not. The immovable property and other assets and income from all sources are also taken into account for determining the eligibility for financial assistance.

The parent/guardian of a candidate desirous of having any financial assistance, should, immediately after his son/ward has been finally selected for training at the Indian Military Academy, submit an application through the District Magistrate of his District who will with his recommendation forward the application to the Commandant, Indian Military Academy, Dehradun.
