In Uttar Pradesh Over 16 Lakh Students Registered in 8500 Unrecognized Madrassas – Report Said!! It has been reported that around 8500 madrasas in the state of Uttar Pradesh are not recognized by the government or the Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Education Board. It is reported that more than 16 lakh students are enrolled in these madrasas.

Earlier, the number of unrecognized madrasas was 7,189 in October last year. Meanwhile, out of a total of 75 districts in Uttar Pradesh, 60 districts have submitted details of madrasas. The remaining 15 districts have been given time till November 15 2022 to submit their findings.
It is expected that the Uttar Pradesh government headed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will decide on the unauthorized madrasas after the work is fully completed. Also, the UP Board of Madrasa Education recognizes about 16,513 madrasas and subsidizes 560 of these madrasas. It is said that more than 20 lakh students have been registered.
