Udaan Plans to Lay Off 10% of Total Employees – Here is the Update!! India’s largest B2B Platform Udaan plans to lay off its 10% of employees, reports said. The company, which recently received $120 million in convertible debt, is said to be planning to lay off about 325 to 350 employees. About 3,000 employees are currently working in Udaan.

Another 10,000 to 12,000 employees work through outsourcing companies. The total number is said to include layoffs from call-on-street workers and sales supervisors. Sources said that as the number of warehouses in the company is reduced, delivery workers involved in loading and unloading packages will be fired out. Earlier in June, the company had laid off around 200 employees.

The startup had promised to reinvent its business model to suit the changing market conditions. In 2020, the company laid off around 1000 employees. Bangalore-based Udaan startup was founded in 2016. The company currently sells in retail and other offline outlets, electronics, home and kitchen, staples, fruits and vegetables, FMCG, pharma, toys, and general merchandise.
