Twitter Plans New Verifications Process For “Blue” Users: Twitter one of the most used micro blogging platform has been planning to set up a new verification process for its “Twitter Blue” subscribers. This verification involves the submission of the government ID proof along with a selfie photo. This will be shared with third-party to confirm their identity.
According to the report, Twitter has not yet rolled out this update to users. Currently, this process is in testing in the US. Users have to upload the front and back sides of their government identity card and the firm is claiming that this verification process will take only 3 minutes to finish the verification steps.
This verification process is only for “Twitter Blue” subscribers. Recently, Meta also did this kind of verification to give “Meta Verified” subscriptions to Facebook and Instagram users. This kind of verification will avoid scammers to get a premium subscription.
