In Tamil Nadu the students of Higher Secondary First Year/ Second Year are taught and taking the examinations in Part I Language paper and Part II English and four core subjects and subjects with rules for a total of 600 marks.
The State Public School Education Board Executive Committee meeting was held on 30.08.2019, 31.08.219 and 04.09.2019 on the basis of the feedback from the Expert Panel on the Improved Curriculum and Rules Framework for the Higher Secondary First Year/ Second Year.
Subsequently, To improve the current practice in the subject composition and to make students’ education more friendly and to reduce their stress,Tamil Nadu State Public School Board has Approved the introduction and implementation of 3 core subjects along with the current four core subjects for the first and second year of higher education from the upcoming academic year (2020-2021).
