For IT companies, the increased attrition rate has been a major source of concern. TCS attrition increased to 17.4% in the March 2022 quarter, up from 8.6% at the start of the year and 11.9 percent in the December 2021 quarter. The attrition rate at Infosys was 27.7% in the March 2022 quarter, up from 13.9 percent at the beginning of the year.
Attrition rate in HCL Tech was 11.8 percent in the beginning of the year and hiked to 21.8 percent in the March 2022 quarter. TCS’s chief executive, Rajesh Gopinathan, indicated that attrition is anticipated to worsen before plateauing. According to Nilanjan Roy, the finance chief of Infosys, attrition could decrease in the coming year as more freshers enter the company.

From their early forecasts, the top three IT businesses steadily boosted their fresher supply. TCS and Infosys, for example, hired 100,000 and 85,000 people, respectively, compared to 40,000 and 26,000 at the start of the fiscal year.
