State Cabinet Gave Approval To Salary Hike By 15% For RTC Employees In Karnataka: In Karnataka, the state cabinet approved the salary hikes for the Road Transport Corporation (RTC) employees by 15% on Thursday (15.06.2023). According to the report, it is estimated that about Rs. 45.13 Crore/month has been required for these hikes and about Rs. 2,166 Crore required for over a period of 4 years.
These estimation details were announced by Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mr. H.K.Patil during a gathering after a post-cabinet. For this hike, the employees have planned a protest in March and the newly formed government has made pre-poll promises to approve this hike.

The government also planned to cede the dues from the RTC in motor vehicle tax and arrears that have been counted to Rs. 79.85 Crore. This decision has been taken to reduce the burden on RTC. The state also planned to adopt for green vehicles to make the state carbon neutral in an improved manner. The state has planned to purchase 10 EV Double Decker buses under the National clean air program.
