The holiday news was announced by the state Chief Minister Mr. Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu through a microblogging platform. This holiday will apply to all government and private educational institutions recognized by the state government states CM.
The Indian Metrological Department (IMD) issued a red alert to seven districts on 08.07.2023 and an orange alert for three districts for the next 48 hours. The IMD also states that there will be moderate to severe rainfall in certain districts across the state and also there is an alert for landslides and flash floods.
