Railway Addresses Concerns Of Candidates Over NTPC CBT-1 Result: Strictly As Per Provision Laid Down In Exam Notification, Clarifies Ministry Of Railways. The Railway Ministry has issued a clarification in the wake of protests over the recently announced RRB NTPC CBT-1 results, addressing the concerns of several candidates who claimed that numerous worthy individuals were denied selection.
Some candidates have expressed concerns about the shortlisting process for the second stage of the ongoing recruitment examination under RRB’s ‘Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) No. 01/2019 (for Non-Technical Popular Categories – Graduate and Under-graduate)’, the results of which were announced on January 14, 2022.
The mechanism for shortlisting candidates for the second stage computer-based exam (CBT) has previously been detailed in the initial announcement, according to Railways. According to the notice, thirteen categories were advertised and divided into five groups based on the pay scale levels of the 7th CPC.
In addition, the advertising explicitly stated the stage-by-stage recruiting method for each category. “Each candidate had the option of selecting all or any of these thirteen categories, subject to qualifying requirements.
While the first stage CBT was a single exam for all applicants, the announcement specified that the second stage CBT will consist of individual exams for each group (Degrees 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6) with varying graded levels of difficulty.

In addition, while an eligible candidate will have to appear for each separate corresponding 2nd stage CBT as per his/her eligibility and option, he/she will be selected and final appointment will be against one post only. Hence the question of depriving any deserving candidate from selection does not arise.
