Pre-Matric Scholarship 2021-22 Scheme for SC students studying in class IX and X. To support poor parents children for education of their wards studying in classes IX and X so that the incidence of drop-out, especially in the transition from the elementary to the secondary stage is minimized, and To improve participation of children in classes IX and X of the Pre-Matric stage, so that they perform better and have a better chance of progressing to the Post-Matric stage of education.

Scholarship under the Scheme will be available for studies in India only and will be awarded by the Government of the State/Union Territory to which the applicant belongs i.e. where she/he is domiciled. The States and union territories create the agency to give the scholarship to all the eligible candidates under the scheme. No direct applications are invited by the Department.

Conditions of Eligibility

  • Student should belong to Scheduled Caste
  • Her/his Parents’/Guardian’s income should not exceed Rs. 2.00 lakh per annum.
  • She / he should not be getting any other Centrally-funded Pre-Matric Scholarship.
  • She/ he should be a regular, full time student studying in a Government School or in a School recognized by Govt. or a Central/State Board of Secondary Education.
  • Scholarship for studying in any class will be available for only one year. If a student has to repeat a class, she / he would not get scholarship for that class for a second (or subsequent) year.

Pre Matric Scholarship Scheme for OBCs and others

This policy OBC and Others is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme and funds were released to the State Governments for further disbursement of scholarship. No funds were released to Telangana State under Pre Matric Scholarship Scheme for OBC between 2018-19 & 2020-21,

Pre-matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities

This scheme gives the  Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities has received 72 applications from the state of Telangana  at the time limit 2018-19 to 2020-21 on the National Scholarship Portal and scholarship has been disbursed to all the 72  students. The Scheme wise and State wise details of scholarships sanctioned during the year 2018-19 to 2020-21.
