Previously, under the Tamil Nadu government’s Compulsory Education Scheme, more students were recruited as part-time instructors at government schools to prevent drop-outs. Those professors were only hired for a short time, and their contracts were continually extended as the corona expanded. Meanwhile, the government has been pressured to offer intermediate instructors working as temporary workers at government schools permanent jobs.
Part-time teachers have been informed that their jobs are not permanent by the Department of Education. ‘Part-time teaching positions in government schools are not permanent,’ he stated in a statement released on behalf of the Department of School Education.
