 Govt Initiates Many Schemes to Develop collaboration between small business and e-commerce platforms!!  There are many efforts are taken by the Union Government of India to increase the partnership between small business of the nation and e-commerce platforms. One District – One Product (ODOP) training programme is executed across the states to develop the on- boarding on the e-commerce environment.

The compulsory registration under GST Act is not necessary for the sellers of specified handicraft goods made by craftsmen of India; this decision is taken by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), Department of Revenue. So the small business people are free from the compulsory registration of the GST Act, thus the collaboration between small business of the nation and e-commerce platforms are being increase.

 Special focus being placed by Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT) on the on-boarding artisans and handicraftsmen, particularly on the manufacturers Geographical Indication (GI) goods and toys. Lot of efforts taken by the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) to increase the same. Following are some of the initiatives made by the Ministry.

 Procurement and Marketing Support (PMS) Scheme:

“Adoption of e-Commerce by Micro Enterprises” – a subcomponent created under this scheme, by this subcomponent Micro Enterprises and financial assistance for selling products are produced.

  Portals of National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC): 

It is a non-transactional B2B Portal which operating MSME Global Mart portal with the e-market facility to strengthen the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises.

 E-commerce portal of Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC):

To trade Khadi products added by Khadi Gramodyog Bhavan, New Delhi KVIC has created a virtual platform.

 Ministry of Tribal Affairs also founded an online market environment via Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Limited (TRIFED).
