Odisha Elementary and Secondary School Admissions Begin Today: The Odisha School and Mass Education Department has announced that elementary and secondary school admissions will begin today, April 27. The deadline for applying for admission is May 31, 2021. The admissions process for the academic sessions 2021-2022 will take place from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on all working days. The COVID-19 guidelines must also be followed by the authorities and parents. Headmasters of primary schools have been asked to collect information from Anganwadi centres over the phone or via WhatsApp for new admissions to class 1.
According to Twitter’s official announcement, “Admission for Elementary and Secondary Schools for the session 2021-22 will begin on April 27, 2021, and will be completed by May 31, 2021.” According to the Odisha State Government, admission is being taken so that no child is denied their rights. “Admission for Elementary and Secondary Schools for the session 2021-22 to commence from 27th April 2021 and to be completed by 31st May 2021,” the Odisha School and Mass Education Department announced on their social media handle when announcing the admission dates.
“The admission process should be performed from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on all working days,” it continued. At any given time, no more than five parents should be allowed to attend school for their children’s admission. When parents come to school for admission, the Headmasters must ensure that all guidelines provided by the government as precautionary steps, such as using the mask, social distancing, and sanitization, are strictly followed.”
All admissions based on promotions within a school, according to the School and Mass Education Department would not include the attendance of students or their parents. Schools will update their admissions registers as needed since these are rolling admissions. Due to the current situation of an increase in COVID-19 incidents, the Odisha government previously promoted students from classes 1 to 9 to the next level without exams.
