Earlier, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had announced an ambitious target of creating 33% of startups with women founders or co-founders across the state. And now this number has increased to 40 percent. As of now, there are more than 1,300 startups in Odisha.
About 500 of them are run by women, Odisha’s startup officer Sanjukta Padei said. Also for the development and encouragement of women entrepreneurs he has released some important information about providing monthly stipends of Rs.22,000 and creating subsidy products up to 16 lakhs. Meanwhile, the Odisha government has earmarked Rs.100 crore for investment in women-run startups.
