Nearly 20,000 Job Vacancy Will Be Created In TN: The leading footwear manufacturing company in Taiwan, Pou Chen Corporation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu government to set up a footwear manufacturing unit at Ulundurpet in the Kallakuruchi district. This company produces footwear for Nike, Adidas, Timberland, and more.
The MoU was signed in the presence of TN CM Mr. M.K. Stalin and the company’s Vice President Mr. George Liu along with other officials of the TN government. According to the report, the company invests around $281 million In India to set up this factory.
This could create over 20,000 jobs in TN over 12 years. It also states that over 78% of women will be employed in the company. This will be helpful for local youths to get placed in a good company with a good salary. The company already has a plant in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Vietnam.
