Microsoft Launches Windows 11 Security Tool – Here are the Details!! A new Windows 11 security tool launched by Microsoft is reportedly aimed at preventing password hackers. Accordingly, with Microsoft Windows 11 it will no longer be difficult to steal user credentials. Known as SMB authentication rate limiting is available in Windows 11 Insider and Windows Server Insider builds.
Microsoft says that this SMB Server service defaults to two seconds between each failed incoming New Technology LAN Manager (NTLM) authentication. At the same time, Windows NTLM is the core package used to authenticate users and protect the integrity and confidentiality of their activity. This feature makes cybercriminals more time-consuming to guess users’ passwords and carry out attacks.
“If you don’t have intrusion detection software or password lockout, cybercriminals can guess a user’s password in days or hours. This problem still exists today. It takes more time to target the server’ said Microsoft security expert Ned Pyle.
