The recent government report states that the jobs in the central public sector undertakings (CPSU) have been drops down to 2.7 Lakh when compared to the previous decade.

This job reduction has become a concern on the one hand and the leap in the contract employees has taken a stand on the other hand. The reports have been plotted from 2012-13 to 2021-22. According to the report, the employees count in PSU in March 2013 is 17.3 lakh and the count in March 2022 is 14.6 lakh.
This steep decline in the report has bothered the subsidiary of the CPU and the rounds of survey have been conducted around 389 CPSEs among that 248 are operational. The contract labourers have been hiked by 19% from 17% in 2013 to 36% in 2022 and the daily /casual workers also increased from 2.5% to 6.6% from 2013 to 2022.
