Indian IT Giants Slow Down New Hiring – Report Says!! Many of India’s leading IT companies have slowed down their pace of new hiring, reports said. These companies, which have employed lakhs of employees in the last 2 years, are now in the process of releasing non-performing employees. Accordingly, India’s largest IT services companies Wipro Ltd and Tech Mahindra Ltd have been laying off employees in July to September quarter.

Specifically, these layoffs reduced sales, support staff, and software engineers. Similarly, L&T Technology Services Ltd and engineering and construction firm Scient Ltd have cut sales staff. Wipro has also “rebadged” 130 people in its facilities management team to real estate consultancy CBRE. Also, Tata Consultancy Services’ hiring pace has slowed down from July to September.
Similarly, the top 10 IT companies have reduced their staff. These 10 companies had 1.74 million employees as of September 30. Earlier it was reported that between July 2020 and September 2022, these 10 largest IT companies added half a million employees.
