India test-fires Surface to Air-Missile from Chandipur in Odisha
- India successfully test-fired its all weather tracked-chassis Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air Missile (QR-SAM) from a mobile launcher at launch complex III of the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur in Odisha. It was the second developmental trial of the missile in this year from the same test range.
Mountaineering Expedition team to climb Mt. Elbrus
- Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Shripad Yesso Naik flagged off an Expedition Team of Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Hmi), Darjeeling to Mt. Elbrus, Russia. The expedition team plans to summit Mt. Elbrus, the highest peak in European Continent on August 15, 2019 and hoist India’s national flag atop the mountain to coincide with 73rd Independence Day.
Indigenous SDR, Next Generation Maritime Mobile Coastal Batteries for Indian Navy
- Defence Acquisition Council, DAC has accorded approval for procurement of indigenous Software Defined Radio (SDR) and Next Generation Maritime Mobile Coastal Batteries for the Indian Navy.
- It has been developed and manufactured in India by Indo-Russia Joint Venture Company, BrahMos Aerospace Private Limited.
CORAS (Commandos For Railway Security) of Indian Railways
- Minister of Railways and Commerce &Industry,Shri Piyush Goyal launched CORAS (Commando for Railway Security) of Indian Railways and new establishment manual for Railway Protection Force. Shri Goyal announced that a new state of the art commando training centre to be established in Jagadhri, Haryana.
DRDO hands over design of Mobile Metallic Rampto Indian Army
- Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) handed over the design of Mobile Metallic Ramp (MMR) to the Indian Army at a ceremony held at DRDO Bhawan. With load bearing capacity of 70 metric ton (MT),the MMR has been designed and developed by DRDO’s premier research laboratory, Centre for Fire, Explosive and Environment Safety (CFEES).
MAKS-2019: BrahMos, HAL to participate in airshow in Russia
- BrahMos Aerospace and Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd will represent India in the international aviation and space show, MAKS 2019, in Russia, where defence and aerospace majors from across the globe will participate.
