India-Australia ECTA to create 1 Million jobs in next 4-5 years: Piyush Goyal. The India-Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA), according to Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, will create roughly 10 lakh jobs in the next 4-5 years.

“The Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA) between India and Australia will help us create roughly 10 lakh jobs in the next 4-5 years,” Goyal said in an interview with ANI. “But don’t be shocked if it goes further.” Students from India will be granted work visas to work in Australia.

In the next five years, the freshly negotiated trade treaty with Australia is expected to increase bilateral trade from USD 27 billion to roughly USD 45-50 billion, and the government expects one million jobs to be created in India.

The India-Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA) was signed on April 2 by both countries.

ECTA is India’s first trade deal with a developed country in more than a decade, and it establishes an institutional system to boost bilateral commerce.

The Union Commerce Minister further remarked that the trade agreement with Australia will provide India with new opportunities.

“A trade agreement with Australia will open doors to the developed world and assist us in reaching new markets,” Goyal added.

He stated that the accord was reached after ten years and that it was India’s first free trade pact with the industrialised world.

“We have finally made a free trade agreement with a developed nation after ten years. It’s also an important milestone in our journey because now Indian industry is prepared to compete with the rest of the world from a position of strength, is now much more self-confident than ever before,” said Goyal.

He also stated that India’s exports this year totaled USD 418 billion, which is the greatest in the country’s history.

“Quality-conscious, our pricing is quite competitive, and our global reach has expanded. This year, we have the greatest ever export in Indian history, totaling USD 418 billion. This shows India’s readiness to interact with the rest of the world from a position of strength “Goyal stated.
