International Jazz Day is an International Day declared by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in 2011 “to highlight jazz and its diplomatic role of uniting people in all corners of the globe.”
It is celebrated annually on April 30.
The brainchild of jazz pianist and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Herbie Hancock, Jazz Day is chaired by Hancock along with the sitting UNESCO Director-General.
The celebration is recognized on the calendars of both UNESCO and the United Nations

Adolf Hitler was a German politician who was the leader of the Nazi Party, Chancellor of Germany from 1933 to 1945 and Führer of Nazi Germany from 1934 to 1945.
Hitler became dictator (complete ruler) in 1934.
He called himself the Führer (leader) of the German Empire.
The Nazis created a dictatorship called the Third Reich. In 1933, they blocked out all other political parties. This gave Hitler absolute power.
Hitler started World War II by ordering the German Army to invade Poland. His army took over Poland and most of Europe, including France and a large part of the Soviet Union.

Birth: Dhundiraj Govind Phalke was born on 30 April 1870.

He was an Indian producer-director-screenwriter.
He is known as the father of Indian cinema.
The Dadasaheb Phalke Award, awarded to people who worked for a long time to the Indian cinema, was created in his honor by the Government of India in 1969.
An honorary award from the Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Mumbai was introduced in the year 2001, for lifetime achievement in Indian cinema.

Death: He died on 16 February 1944.
