Under the PLI scheme, many companies have created jobs in their firm. Apple one of the biggest Blue-collar job creators in the electronics industry has created around 1 lakh jobs in the past 19 months. This job has been created by the vendors of the Apple Company under the PLI scheme. The major apple vendors i.eFoxconn Hon Hai, Pegatron, and Wistron have created almost 60% of the jobs and they are expected to create around 7000 new jobs in their production line.
Apart from the above-mentioned company, other companies are planning to expand their work heads. The government has introduced the PLI scheme to improve the smartphone production industry in India and to increase employment opportunities in India. Under the PLI scheme, GOI has planned to create around 2 lakh job vacancies in the next 5 years; this is announced by the government on October 6, 2020.
