About HPPSC:
Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, known commonly as HPPSC, is a government agency and topmost constitutional body of Government of Himachal Pradesh constituted on 8 April 1971. It is responsible for conducting Civil Services examinations and Competitive Examinations to select the eligible candidates for various civil services and departmental posts.
Eligibility Criteria: The Maximum Age limit for applying the above mentioned post is 45 years. The Educational qualification for applying Drug Inspector Post is Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Chemistry or a post-Graduate Degree in Chemistry with pharmaceutics as essential subject (Or) Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Graduate in Medicine of an University recognized for this purpose by the appointing authority and has had at least one year’s postgraduate training in a laboratory under a Government Analyst appointed under the Act, or a Chemical Examiner, or the head of an institution specifically approved for the purpose by the appointing authority.
The Desirable qualification is Knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the Pradesh. The Candidates who have not less than 18 months experience in the manufacture of at least one of the substances specified in Schedule-C or Candidates who have not less than 18 month’s experience in testing of at least one of the substances specified in Schedule–C can apply for the post.
The Pay Scale for the Drug Inspector Post is Rs. 10,300/- to Rs. 34,800/- Per Month. The Selection Procedure is based on the Screening Test/Examination and Personality Test. The Application Fee is Rs. 400/- (General), Rs. 100/- (SC of HP / ST of HP / OBC / BPL of HP / EWS) and No fees for Female and Ex-Service Man Candidate.
