The number of people suffering from this disease is continuously increasing in almost all the districts in Tamil Nadu. Especially, many school-going children are suffering from eye diseases. So, people have been advised to be careful as the disease can spread to others through the air.
In this situation, the Tirunelveli district administration has insisted that the school students suffering from eye diseases should be given a holiday. Regarding this, the District Education Officer said that compulsory leave should be given to students coming to school with Madras Eye and teachers should also be allowed to take compulsory leave.

Meanwhile, it has been found that more than 100 people suffering from eye disease are coming for daily treatment at the hospitals in the district. At the same time, it is also said that the number of people suffering from eye disease is increasing in the capital Chennai.
