EPFO Decides to Hire 35 Legal Experts – Report Said!! Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has announced the recruitment of 35 young legal professionals to manage cases and resolve disputes expeditiously. The decision was taken in March. According to the reports, the experts working as researchers will initially be employed for 11 months.
Later it is informed that their services may be extended following performance evaluation. This recruitment is said to be done as EPFO has to deal with thousands of legal cases across the country. EPFO has about 31,000 cases before the Central Administrative Tribunal and other courts.

Now the government has taken the initiative to hire YPs despite opposition from members of the Central Board of Trustees of EPFO. EPFO considers that there may be external cost implications. The EPFO system with around 67 million contributors processed 45.8 million claims in FY21.
