Regarding this, Dharmendra Nath Tiwari, head of the Department of Applied Psychology, Ramanujan College, Delhi University said that, there were 30,000 to 40,000 applications for psychology courses before the Covid pandemic. But in 2020-21 we got 50 thousand to 60 thousand applications. The enrollment was 99%, he added. As people’s lives becoming complex, and this leads to a preference for psychology courses.

Similarly, Jain University in Bangalore has reported a 50 to 60% increase in applications for psychology programs in the current academic year. And Rita Kumar, professor at Amity Institute of Psychology & Allied Sciences (AIPS) also informed that the enrollment of students in psychology courses becomes high. He also mentioned that special diploma courses like PG Diploma in Psycho Oncology and PG Diploma in Counselling Psychology are also preferred by the students, he added.
