Diwali Bonanza: Salary hike for Pilots from November 2022!!! Spicejet Announced.SpiceJet, a no-frills airline, has announced an increase in captains’ salaries beginning in November. The airline said in an official statement on October 19 that the increased salary, which is greater than the pre-COVID compensation, will be Rs 7 lakh per month for 80 hours of flight.

Trainers and Senior First Officers now make equivalently higher compensation. The low-cost airline claimed that it has been monthly updating the salaries of its pilots. The airline announced a 20% pay raise for captains beginning in October as soon as it received the first payment from the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS).

According to reports, the airline supported by Ajay Singh will receive an additional Rs 1,000 crore under the updated ECLGS. The low-cost airline had already announced increases of up to 10% for trainers and 8% for captains and first officers, both of which would take effect in September.

According to reports, compared to their colleagues abroad, the majority of Indian pilots, cabin crew, and ground handling personnel were underpaid and overworked.

As you may remember, SpiceJet requested 80 of its pilots to take a three-month leave of absence without pay in September in an effort to save costs. The airline’s suspension to fly at 50% capacity has also been extended by the Director General of Civil Aviation until October 29.

SpiceJet’s market share stayed at number five in September, according to data made public by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation on October 19. The airline’s market share decreased from 7.9% in August to 7.3 percent in September. In September, it carried 7.53 lakh passengers.
