Delhi Governments Over 30,000 Open Positions Will Be Filled Shortly!!! The filling of over 30,000 government vacancies, mainly in the education and health departments of the Delhi government, is expected to be significantly improved with the recruitment of additional manpower to the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) for carrying out its duties more effectively and quickly.
According to DSSSB sources, these positions have been unfilled since as early as 2013 as a basis of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administration’s lax approach, which has opted to select contract workers to fill permanent government openings. According to DSSSB authorities, the process of filling these 117 more jobs is nearing completion and would be finished in two weeks. Lt Governor VK Saxena recently ordered officials to promptly fill up 117 extra vacancies of various categories in DSSSB.

According to additional sources, Saxena had also raised concerns about the problem of filling such permanent vacancies on a contractual basis, which frequently resulted in favouritism in appointments, the theft of public funds under the pretence of ghost employees, and ultimately an unconstitutional obstacle to the equal right to employment granted to citizens of Delhi and the nation under the Indian Constitution. A government resolution from 1996 mandates the DSSSB to choose applicants for Group ‘B’ (non-gazetted) and Group ‘C’ for appointment to different departments of the GNCTD, MCD, and other government undertakings.
