DD Bihar to broadcast Live classes/news for students of 9 to 12 from May 10. India’s public broadcaster, DD Bihar, in collaboration with Bihar Education Project (BEP) has decided to broadcast virtual classes for students to address students’ learning losses amid the COVID-19 pandemic. DD Bihar will be broadcasting virtual teaching classes for the students of Classes 9, 10, 11, and 12 from today amid schools closing across the state due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

During this time, students will be told about the Covid-19 security protocol and will also be given information about how to keep themselves fit in the midst of crisis by staying in their homes. The digital syllabus is designed with the technical support of UNICEF. This Bihar government initiative aims to provide the benefit of digital tutorials to more than 38 lakh students enrolled in more than 8,000 schools across the state.

UNICEF: United Nations Children’s Fund,  is a United Nations agency responsible for providing humanitarian and developmental aid to children worldwide.  The agency is among the most widespread and recognizable social welfare organizations in the world, with a presence in 192 countries and territories. UNICEF’s activities include providing immunizations and disease prevention, administering treatment for children and mothers with HIV, enhancing childhood and maternal nutrition, improving sanitation, promoting education, and providing emergency relief in response to disasters.

Classes for students of 9th and 10th will be conducted from 10 am to 11 am. At the same time, classes for students of 11th and 12th will be held from 11 am to 12 noon. The duration of each subject will be 16 to 17 minutes. The students will also be encouraged and informed about COVID-19 safety protocols and how to and fit amid the crisis at homes.
