HARYANA

Two insurance schemes for traders launched in haryana

  • The State government launched two insurance schemes for registered small and medium traders in an apparent bid to woo voters. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar launched “Mukhyamantri Vyapari Samuhik Niji Durghatna Beema Yojana” and “Mukhyamantri Vyapari Kshatipurti Beema Yojana”.

India joins the Global Antimicrobial Resistance Research and Development Hub

  • India has joined the Global Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Research and Development (R&D) Hub as a new member. This was announced by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology in New Delhi.
  • This expands the global partnership working to address challenges and improve coordination and collaboration in global AMR R&D to 16 countries, the European Commission, two philanthropic foundations and four international organisations (as observers).
  • The Global AMR R&D Hub was launched in May 2018 in the margins of the 71st session of the World Health Assembly, following a call from G20 Leaders in 2017.

Water found for first time on potentially habitable planet

  • K2-18b, which is eight times the mass of Earth, is now the only planet orbiting a star outside the Solar System, or ‘exoplanet’, known to have both water and temperatures that could be potentially habitable, according to the study published in the journal Nature Astronomy.
  • Astronomers have for the first time discovered water in the atmosphere of an exoplanet with Earth-like temperatures that could support life as we know it.

CBSE’s portal ‘Vidyadhan’ on Diksha App Launched

  • Union Human Resource Development Minister Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘ Nishank’ presented CBSE Teacher Awards – 2018 to 34 teachers of the country. During this function the minister launched CBSE’s portal ‘Vidyadhan’ on Diksha App, a Digital Infrastructure for Knowledge Sharing’s (National Forum for Teachers).
  • Vidya Daan is a unique initiative in which a repository of content is prepared by the teachers by uploading study materials for students of class 6th to 10th on an on-line platform, Diksha App.

Contract Signed between Ministry of Defence, India and JSC Rosoboronexport, Russian Federation

  • The contract for modernisation of “Air Defence Complex Kashmir and Radar Fregat MAE” on P-15 (Delhi Class) of ships was signed between the Ministry of Defence, India and JSC Rosoboronexport, Russian Federation on September 12, 2019. The modernisation of Radar and Missile systems would substantially enhance the Air Defence capability of the P-15 Ships.

Prime Minister launched National Pension Scheme for Traders and Self Employed Persons

  • The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi launched at Ranchi, the National Pension Scheme for Traders and Self Employed Persons, a pension scheme for the Vyaparis (shopkeepers/retail traders and self-employed persons) with annual turnover not exceeding Rs 1.5 crore.
  • It is a voluntary and contributory pension scheme for entry age of 18 to 40 years with a provision for minimum assured pension of Rs 3,000/- monthly on attaining the age of 60 years.

UAE President bestows First Class Order of Zayed II award to Navdeep Singh Suri

  • UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has bestowed the First Class Order of Zayed II award to the Ambassador, Navdeep Singh Suri. The award is given in recognition of his contribution to the development and strengthening of friendly relations and co-operation between the two countries. It is a rare honour given to any diplomat.

17 Indian peacekeepers in South Sudan awarded medals for service

  • Seventeen Indian peacekeepers deployed with the UN mission in South Sudan have been awarded medals in recognition of their service to the people in the world’s youngest country. India is among the largest troop contributing countries in the world to UN peacekeeping missions.
  • As of March this year, India is the second highest troop contributor to the United Nation Missions, with 2,337 troops deployed in various countries

White Water Rafting Expedition – ‘Rudrashila’ Flagged off at Jaisalmer

  • The white water Rafting Expedition christened ‘RUDRASHILA’ being undertaken by Kalidhar Battalion under the aegis of Battle Axe Division was Flagged Off on 11 September 2019.
  • The expedition christened ‘Rudrashila’ has been organised to commemorate the 75th Raising day of the Kalidhar Battalion. ‘Rudrashila’ takes its name from the famed Rudraprayag tributary of the Ganges River in the Mountains of Uttarakhand. ‘Kalidhar Batttalion’ was raised on 01 November 1943 and has participated in all major operations of the Indian Army including two overseas assignments in Korea in 1953 and UN peacekeeping Mission in Congo in 2005-06.

Indo-Thailand Joint Military Exercise Maitree – 2019

  • Joint Military Exercise MAITREE-2019 between India and Thailand will be conducted at Foreign Training Node, Umroi (Meghalaya) from 16-29 Sep 2019. Indian and Royal Thailand Army (RTA) comprising 50 soldiers each will participate in the exercise with an aim to share experience gained during various counter terrorism operations in their respective countries.
  • Exercise MAITREE is an annual training event which is being conducted alternatively in Thailand and India since 2006.

Dutee Chand has been added to India’s team for the World Athletics Championships
