Fieldwork of 7th Economic Census to be launched in Tripura

  • The fieldwork of 7th EC is being launched in the States of Tripura on 29th July 2019, and in Puducherry soon after. The fieldwork in other State/ UTs will be launched in August/ September, 2019.

  • India received satellite data on its flood-hit regions from eight nations and China was the first to provide it as part of a multi-lateral mechanism for sharing space-based information for countries affected by natural or man-made disasters, the government said.

MIDHANI’s role in Chandrayaan-2

  • The Hyderabad based Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI) has played a role in the celebrated Chandrayaan-2 Mission. It developed and supplied materials for Cryogenic Engine (CUS) of GSLV Mk III, a three-stage heavy lift launch vehicle, developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for launch of the Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft.

Government approves national permit scheme for inter-state travel for bus operators

  • Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said, the government has approved the national permit scheme for inter-state travel for bus operators. The move is likely to increase the state revenue by 3-4 per cent as the money will be directly credited to the states in a proportionate manner.
