Vice President of India,released a Book ‘Democracy, Politics and Governance’:  

  • Venkaiah Naidu(Vice President of India) on the 72nd anniversary of the adoption of the ‘Constitution of India’ released a book titled “Democracy, Politics and Governance” in English and ‘Loktantr, Rajniti and Dharm’ in Hindi at an event in the Central Hall of Parliament, New Delhi.
  • The book was authored by Dr A. Surya Prakash.This book is a collection of articles about the social, political, and economic issues that impacted India’s politics and governance.

National Pollution Control Day 2021:

  • National Pollution Control Day is observed on 2nd December every year.
  • The day is observed as a national pollution control day to commemorate the lives of the people who died in the Bhopal gas tragedy in 1984.
  • The industrial accident occurred in 1984 when the gas Methyl Isocyanate leaked on the night of December 2–3 and killed thousands.
  • This year will be marked as the 37th national pollution control day.

World Computer Literacy Day 2021:

  • World Computer Literacy Day is observed on 2nd December every year all over the world.
  • The day is celebrated to create awareness and drive digital literacy in underserved communities worldwide.
  • The day was originally founded by the Indian computer company NIIT to mark its 20th anniversary in 2001.
  • World Computer Literacy Day was first observed and held in the year 2001 on 2nd December.

All India Radio launches youth programme AIRNxt:

  • All India Radio has decided to begin a new programme called AIRNxt.
  • All India Radio Founded: 1936.
  • All India Radio Headquarters: Sansad Marg, New Delhi.
  • All India Radio Owner: Prasar Bharati.

Dinyar Patel wins the NIF Book Prize 2021 for the book of Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay :

  • New India Foundation announced the winner of the fourth edition of the Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay NIF Book Prize 2021.
  • A biography of Dadabhai Naoroji book was written by Dinyar Patel.
  • Dadabhai Naoroji is one of the leader of Indian National Congress and also known as the “Grand Old Man of India” and “Unofficial Ambassador of India”.

  • The SBI RuPay JCB Platinum Contactless Debit Card was launched by NPCI (National payment Corporation of India), State Bank of India and Japan’s JCB International.
  • The ‘SBI RuPay JCB platinum contactless debit card’ comes with a dual-interface feature, which will enable customers to perform both contact
  • and contactless transactions in the domestic market and seamless contact transactions overseas.

Indian Oil Corporation launches Octane 100 petrol:

  • On December 1, 2020 the Indian Oil Corporation launched Octane 100 petrol.
  • The 100 Octane fuel that is used for luxury vehicles is available only in six countries in the world namely United States, German, Malaysia, Greece, Israel and Indonesia.

World Malaria Report, 2020:

  • The World Malaria Report, 2020 was recently released by the World Health Organisation.
  • As per the report, India recorded the largest reduction in malaria cases in South East Asia.
  • India is the largest contributor of Malaria cases in the south-east Asia region. Around 88% of Malaria cases in the region are from India.
  • India has reduced the Malaria cases by 21% between 2018 and 2019.
  • World Malaria Day: It is celebrated on April 25.
