  1. 2022 National Maritime Day is observed on April 5:

National Maritime Day in India is observed on April 5 every year. This is the 59th anniversary of Indian National Maritime Day.

Purpose:

Aiming to raise awareness about the important role of shipping to the world, this initiative is becoming a significant effort to integrate the maritime community. The theme of National Maritime Day is “Stable Shipping Beyond Covit-19”. Since 1964, National Maritime Day has been celebrated on April 5 in India.

  1. Falconi Shaw wins Grammy Award for Best Children’s Music Album in the World:

Grammy Award for Best Children’s Album The Best Children’s Album Award is given to musicians with quality performances aimed at children. Grammy 2022: Indo-American singer Falcony Shaw wins Best Colors in a Colorful World album. Falku was born in Mumbai, India and is a New York-based Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter.

In 2022, he won the Grammy Award for Best Children’s Album for his album A Colorful World.

Johnny Leeds won the Grammy Award in 2021.

  1. Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Richard Howard dies:

Richard Howard, American Pulitzer Prize-winning poet, died on 31 March 2022 at the age of 92. Richard Joseph Howard was an American poet. Howard Professor Emeritus at Columbia University was diagnosed with dementia.

Howard won the Pulitzer Prize in 1970 for “unnamed subjects”.

  1. UN warns of global warming above 3 degrees Celsius:

A United Nations-backed panel of climate scientists has warned that the world could be twice as hot as 3 degrees Celsius above the Paris Agreement target. The international goal of controlling global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius (2.7 degrees Fahrenheit) is official. Based on the national commitments made prior to the Glasgow climate talks, it was predicted that emissions by 2030 would “exceed 1.5 degrees Celsius in the 21st century”.

  1. RPF hosts the National Conference on “Women in Uniform – Agents for Change”:

The Railway Security Force (RPF), 9% of personnel, is the highest of all the Central Armed Forces (CAPF). The RPF is organizing a national conference on “Women in Uniform – Agents for Change”.

Purpose:

Women in Uniforms – Agents for Change “hosted a national conference at its headquarters in RPF, Delhi.  It is to provide a base for such things as troop preparation.

  1. Flipkart launches Flipkart Foundation for Rural and Women Development:

E-commerce company Flipkart has announced the establishment of the Flipkart Foundation.

Purpose:

It has launched the Flipkart, Flipkart Foundation for the promotion of rural and women and to provide equal opportunities for all.

  1. Tata Group is now launching a Tata Super App called TataNew:

Tata Group has launched the Tata Super App now known as TataNue.

Purpose: To be a one-stop shop for all Tata Group online services. The integrated platform provides a variety of products and services in e-commerce, financial services, fashion, lifestyle and more.

  1. Former Defense Minister of India Jagjivan Ram’s Birthday April 5 2022:

Jagjivan Ram, popularly known as Bapuji, is an Indian freedom fighter and politician from Bihar. He is the 4th Deputy Prime Minister of India. He was born on 5 April 1908 – 6 July. 1986 Popularly known as Bapuji.

He was the first Cabinet Minister of Labor in India and a member of the Indian National Congress.

  1. Chief Minister MK Stalin dedicated the Chennai Police Assistant Processor for public use:

The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M.K. Stalin started. DGP Silenthra Babu and Commissioner of Police Shankar Jival were also present on the occasion.

Purpose:

Emergency Mobile Call Facility The Dial 100 processor is integrated with the Police Assistance Processor in order for users to make direct complaints on the mobile by dialing 112, 100, 101.

  1. ‘Hurun 2022 Indian women are among the self-created women of the world’s richest:

According to ‘Hurun 2022 World’s Richest Self-Created Women’ there are now 124 women billionaires in the world, down 6 people from last year.

Three Indian women – Falguni Nair of Nike, Kiran Majumdar-Shah of Pyokan and Radha Vembu of Joho have been featured in the latest Hurun Women’s Self-Made Millionaire list. Falkuni Nair has overtaken India’s number one female billionaire, Kiran Masood-Shah, to become India’s richest woman.

  1. The new book “Queen of Fire” by Devika Rangachari explores the story of Rani Lakshmibai:

Devika Rangachari, a children’s writer and historian, has written a new novel, “Queen of Fire”, which explores the story of Jhansi Rani Lakshmibai.

Purpose:

The book focuses on the journey of Queen Lakshmibai as a queen, soldier and politician. The book gives a detailed account of his joining the revolutionaries to revolt against the East India Company.
