National Anti-Doping Agency of India launched the app for athletes

  • The National Anti-Doping Agency of India (NADA) is developing Apps to spread awareness and address queries of athletes as well as to help them recognize if any medicine prescribed to them contains prohibited substances.
  • NADA Director-General and CEO Ritu Sain announced this app during the Inclusion Conclave conducted by the agency in New Delhi.

Swar Dharohar festival 2022

  • The Ministry of Culture joined with “Swar Dharohar Foundation,” inaugurated a three days event of “Swar Dharohar Festival” under Kalanjali. And this festival is celebrated for 3 days on 2nd, 3rd and 4th of December 2022 at the Central Vista, India Gate, New Delhi.
  • “Swar Dharohar Festival” is a Music, Art & Literature Festival to showcase the iconic art and culture of India and the rich literary Art & Heritage of Indian States.

First G-20 Sherpa Meeting held in Udaipur

  • Udaipur city in Rajasthan will host the first G-20 Sherpa Meeting from 4 to 7 December 2022. The meeting will be presided over by the Indian Sherpa Amitabh Kant.
  • The Sherpa are the personal emissaries of the leaders of the members of the G-20 group. They oversee negotiations over the year, discussing agenda items for the Summit and coordinating the substantive work of the G20.

Most Expensive Cities in world List was Revealed

  • The Economist Intelligence Unit’s Global Cost of Living Survey has released a list of the most expensive cities to live in, with New York and Singapore in top position.
  • Most Expensive Cities list based on daily cost of living. Around 172 cities have been taken up for this study which was carried out in the months of August and September.
  • Damascus, the capital of Syria, and Tripoli, Libya, top the list of the most affordable cities to live in the world.

German Bank sign an agreement for Green Power Corridor Project

  • The central government is planning to set up a green power corridor to distribute wind and solar power with a capacity of 20,000 megawatts between several states across the country.
  • A memorandum of understanding was signed between KFW, Bank in Germany and the officials of the Electricity Board at the Chennai Electricity Board Head Office regarding the provision of credit for the Green Power Line.
    • The scheme is to be implemented in seven states including Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Karnataka in the first phase.
    • 338 crore rupees will be provided by KFW Bank and 237 crore rupees by Central Government; The rest has been contracted as own funds of the power board.

Indian  Navy Day 2022 to be celebrated at Visakhapatnam

  • The Navy Day which is observed on 4 December every year to acknowledge the role of the Indian Navy and commemorate its achievements in ‘Operation Trident’ during the 1971 Indo-Pak War. And the celebrations are usually held in New Delhi in presence of the Commander in Chief, President of India.

Monthly pension amount of differently-abled persons were raised in Tamilnadu

  • Tamil Nadu Government has raised the monthly pension amount of differently-abled persons from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 1500 and this will be implemented from January 2023.
  • And also Mr.Stalin launched the scheme of providing laptops for differently-abled persons. A mobile clinic for the benefit of the differently abled peoples.

Chairman of National Biodiversity Commission was Appointed

  • Retired IFS officer C. Achalender Reddy has taken charge of the National Biodiversity Commission at Taramani, Chennai.
  • He joined the Indian Forest Department in 1986. He also served as the Secretary of the National Biodiversity Commission from 2009 to 2014.

Archaeological studies

A 300-year-mid stone has been found in Thenpennai River

  • A 300-year-old midstone stone was discovered by archaeologists along the banks of the South Pennai River, in Krishnagiri district
  • In this 300-year-old inscription, a bull is shown running on its forelegs. Behind it are scenes of the man holding on to the bull’s reins trying to subdue the bull.

Science and Technology

New planet was discovered looks like Earth

  • NASA scientists have recently discovered an Earth-like planet ( Kepler – 10c), and now astronomers have reported that this newly discovered planet is bigger than Kepler-10c.
  • NASA also announced that this new planet has been named TOL-1075 b (TOL-1075 b), if humans go there, their weight will increase by 3 times. Also, this planet which is 10 times larger than Earth is called ‘Super Earth’.

National Award for Person with Disability for the year 2021 and 2022

  • On the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the President of India Mrs. Draupadi Murmu presented the National Awards for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities for year 2021 and 2022 in New Delhi on December 3, 2022.
  • National Awards for 2021 were presented to 25 individuals, organizations and institutions, National Awards for 2022 were presented to 29 individuals, organizations and institutions for their outstanding achievements and work towards empowerment of persons with disabilities.

Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay NIF Prize 2022

  • A book on the popular forest conservation campaign CHIPKO movement by historian-activist Shekhar Pathak has been selected for the Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay NIF Book Prize 2022.
  • The Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay NIF Book Prize recognizes and celebrates outstanding work in writing about modern or contemporary India by writers of all nationalities. The book prize carries a cash prize of Rs 15 lakh, a trophy and a certificate of appreciation.
  • Milan Vaishnav (2018), Ornit Shani (2019), Amit Ahuja and Jairam Ramesh (jointly, 2020), and Dinyar Patel (2021) have previously received the award.

Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022

  • The final match of the Vijay Hazare Cup series was played between Maharashtra and Saurashtra in Ahmedabad.
  • Saurashtra won the match against Maharashtra by 5 wickets led by Jaidev Unadgad. After about 14 years, the team has won the championship title in this series.
