India’s biggest International Yoga Centre

  • India’s biggest Yoga Centre has been constructed in village Mantalai in the Chenani Tehsil of Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur.
  • The Tourism Ministry in the Government of India has sanctioned Rs 9,782 crore for this work, and it has a modern outlook with swimming pools, business convention centers, helipads, spas etc.

Digi Yatra facility inaugurated at IGI Airport

  • Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia inaugurated the Digi Yatra facility at IGI Airport in New Delhi, This facility has been started at three airports in the country including Delhi, Bangalore, and Varanasi on December 1, 2022.
  • Digi Yatra provides the facility of contactless processing of passengers on the basis of face recognition technology at the various checkpoints of airports.

A new air force has been launched in India’s Eastern Coast Guard

  • In the Eastern Region of the Indian Coast Guard, A.L.H. An air force consisting of four state-of-the-art helicopters named ‘Advanced Light Helicopter MK-3’ has been newly launched.
  • Also for the Indian Coast Guard, an agreement was signed with Hindustan Aeronautics to manufacture and supply 16 light helicopters equipped with sophisticated radar, electro-optical sensors and other technical equipment. Of this, four helicopters are earmarked for the eastern region.

India-Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement

  • India and Australia had signed an agreement regarding the India-Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement, ECTA and this will come into force on 29th December 2022, under this agreement Duties on 100 percent tariff lines are to be eliminated by Australia.
  • The India-Australia ECTA will significantly enhance bilateral trade in goods and services, create new employment opportunities, raise living standards, and improve the general welfare of the people.

Former Chinese President Jiang Zemin has passed away

  • Jiang Zemin served as the General Secretary of the ruling Chinese Communist Party from 1989 to 2004 and as the President of the country from 1993 to 2003.
  • Due to ill health he died at the age of 96 on the evening of 30 November 2022.And he played an important role in China’s economic modernization.

Mini Africa people who voted for the first time in Gujarat

  • The people of Jampur Village, known as Mini Africa in Gujarat state, are tribes who migrated to India from Africa many years ago as boatmen and traders and are staying in Jampur village of Junagadh district.
  • Now for the first time they have been given Indian citizenship and given the right to vote in Gujarat elections.

Mission Chennai scheme was launched in Tamil Nadu

International Book Fair in Chennai

Tamil Nadu best government schools list was published

  • Chief Minister M.K.Stalin had announced that the best schools would be awarded in the name of Prof. Anbazhagan. It has also been said that the award will be given to schools that demonstrate multifaceted development in learning, teaching, leadership and teacher skill development.
  • Also, the list of best government schools in TamilNadu for the academic year 2020-21 has been released. Totally 114 schools were selected, 3 schools each from 38 districts in Tamil Nadu have been selected for the award.

A Government Botanical Garden will be established at Kadapur

  • As announced in the 2022-Tamil Nadu budget, a botanical garden will be established at a cost of 300 crore rupees in Chengalpattu district, Kadambur, on an area of ​​338 acres.
  • Officials said that this botanical garden will be set up like ‘Kew Park’ in London, the capital of Britain in Europe and an agreement will be made with the Kew Park Management in London to get suggestions for setting up the park.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik laid the foundation stone for the Aluminum Park.

  • The 253-acre Vedanta Aluminum Park at Jharsuguda, to be set up as one of India’s largest metal parks, is a joint venture between Vedanta Aluminum and Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation.
  • The park is a world-class industrial facility where companies can set up their manufacturing units and smelt and separate metal from Vedanta’s smelter at Jharkhand.

  • Nagaland became the 16th State of the Union of India on 1st December 1963 and the state celebrating its 60th statehood day.
  • On the Occasion the Chief Minister will launch the SAHYOG project of Nagaland Police and also flag off Nagaland Police Special Operation Group Vehicles.
  • Project SAHYOG – Nagaland Police signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR) for ‘Project SAHYOG’, a medical assistance project for Nagaland Indian Reserve (IR) personnel and their families

Economic news

India’s economic growth slowed to 6.3 percent

  • The National Statistics Office (NSO) has released the report of Economic growth (Gross Domestic Product) in India slowed to 6.3 per cent in the second quarter (July-September) of the current financial year 2022-23, compared to 13.5 per cent growth in the previous April-June quarter.
  • GDP growth slowed due to poor performance in the manufacturing and mining sectors, and gross domestic product stood at 8.4 percent in the second quarter of the 2021-22 fiscal years.

November month GST Collection Rs.1.45 lakh crore

  • The Union Finance Ministry released the report of November month GST collection of 1, 45,867 crore. In this Central GST 25,681 crore, state GST. Rs. 32,651 crore, consolidated GST. Rs.77, 103 crore.
  • Among the states that collected the highest GST, Maharashtra ranked first, followed by Karnataka at second, Gujarat at third and Tamil Nadu at fourth.

Wildlife Trust of India award

  • The Wildlife Trust of India has selected an eight-member team from Chinnakkanal (Munnar forest division) for its award this year for reducing incidents of man-animal conflict in the region.
  • The team had been selected for its work in ensuring the protection of the wild elephants and people in the region.
  •  Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) is an Indian NGO committed to nature conservation, Motto is “In Service of Nature” and its mission is to conserve wildlife and its habitat.

FIFA World cup 2022:  1st woman referee

  • FIFA has announced that Stephanie Frappart of France will be the first woman to referee a men’s World Cup match.
  • She will be in the match to be played between Germany and Costa Rica in Group E on 2 December 2022.
  • France’s Frappart is one of three women referees among the 36 selected for the tournament in Qatar.

World Computer Literacy Day

  • World Computer Literacy Day was launched in 2001 by an Indian company called (National Institute of Information Technology) N.I.I.T. to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The Company was founded in 1981.
  • The day aims to “create awareness and drive digital literacy in underserved communities worldwide”.
