Mission LiFE – Conference

  • PM Narendra Modi launches Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) in Kevadia
  • Mission LiFE for Environment will be the India-led global mass movement toward protecting and preserving the environment.

PM Modi lays foundation stone of various development projects at Vyara in Gujarat’s Tapi

  • PM lays foundation stone of multiple development initiatives worth over Rs.1970crore in Vyara, Tapi, Gujarat.
  • The projects include the improvement of the road from Saputara to the Statue of Unity along with the construction of missing links, and water supply projects worth over Rs 300 crore in Tapi and Narmada districts.
  • The Prime Minister also said that for the first time in the country, the birth anniversary of Prabhu Birsa Munda should be celebrated as Tribal Pride Day on November 15.

Dharmendra Pradhan launched the National Curriculum Framework for 2022

  • Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched the National Curriculum Framework for Foundation stage 2022 in New Delhi.
  • Addressing the event, Mr. Pradhan informed that preparation of National Curriculum Framework for school students is an important part of National Education Policy 2020.
  • During the event, the Union Minister also launched the Balvatika programme for Kendriya Vidyalayas.

Internet Freedom – Published by Freedom House organisation

  • India’s internet freedom has improved after four years, according to US-based Freedom House organisation.
  • Internet freedom is measured based on disconnection of Internet services, reduction of Internet speed, restriction of Internet information etc.
  • And India has moved up to 51st position from 49th position.

Britain Prime Minister Liz Truss has resigned

  • Liz Truss resigned as UK Prime Minister after 45 days in office, becoming Britain’s shortest-serving Prime Minister.
  • He resigned due to the economic situation in Britain and the election for the next Prime Minister will be announced soon.

Ban on smoking pipe shops in Tamil Nadu

  • Due to the increasing number of smoking pipe shops in Chennai cities, an act has been passed banning smoking pipe shops for considering the health of the people.
  • The Tamil Nadu government has also announced that the punishment of 1 to 3 years and a fine amount of 20,000 to 50,000 will be imposed for running smoking parlors.

India’s largest nuclear power project is being revived

  • India’s largest nuclear power plant project to generate 9900 MW of electricity at Jaitapur in Maharashtra has been restarted.
  • The project will provide electricity to India at a lower cost, and reduce carbon emissions.

Pradeep singh Kharola appointed as CMD of IPTO

  • Former Civil Aviation Secretary Pradeep Singh Kharola was appointed as a Chairman and Managing Director of India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO).
  • Kharola, a Karnataka cadre Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the 1985 batch, retired as civil aviation secretary in September 2021.

Romans’ mosaic construction system was found

  • Archaeologists have discovered a Roman-era construction of mosaics in Syria.
  • It’s About 1,600 years old, this structure is 20 meters long and 6 meters wide, and the mosaic stones had characters from Greek mythology.

The BA.5 is the first of Omicron’s more than 300 subseries

  • According to the WHO Emergency Committee announced that more than 300 omicron subunits are in circulation worldwide, the majority (~76%) being BA.5.

Europe scheduled to launch The first Ariane 6 rocket

Healthcare Excellence Awards 2022

  • The14th edition of the Healthcare Excellence Awards, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) awarded to Dozee in the category of Digital Innovation in Healthcare.
  • Company has been awarded for the India’s first Contactless AI-powered Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) system.

National Media Award Announcement

  • The Election Commission of India has invited media organizations for the National Media Award for the best campaign on voter education and awareness in 2022.
  • These awards are presented to recognize the outstanding contribution of media organizations to promote electoral participation by creating awareness among the public about the importance of voting.
  • Four awards, one each for Print Media, Television (Electronic), Radio (Electronic) and (Internet)/Social Media Online.

RM Awards for Best Performance

  • Union Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh presented the Raksha Mantri Awards for Excellence in Defense and Aerospace for the year 2021-22 to the Indian defense sector including the private sector at the 12th DefExpo held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat on October 20.
  • A total of 22 awards were presented under various categories, from the year 2022 the awards have been renewed to incorporate private industries, promoting the government’s  scheme ‘Aatmanirbar Bharat Abhiyan’ and promoting the growth of these companies.

Karnataka Ratna Award 2022

  • The Karnataka Ratna is the highest civilian honour of the State of Karnataka, India. It is awarded in recognition of a person’s extraordinary contribution in any field. It was instituted in the year 1992[1] by the Government of Karnataka. A total of ten persons have received this award.
  • Karnataka Chief Minister, Basavaraj Bommai has announced that Kannada film star Puneeth Rajkumar, who died last year, will be conferred with the ‘Karnataka Ratna’ award posthumously. On November 1, 2022, this happens to be Kannada Rajyotsava, the state’s formation day.

Fifth Khelo India Youth Games Date and Venue Announcement

  • The upcoming edition of the Khelo India Youth Games will be held in Madhya Pradesh.
  • The announcement to this effect was made by the Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, in the presence of Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the national capital.
  • This sports competition is scheduled to start on 31st January 31, 2023 and end on 11th February, 2023.

World Wrestling Championship 2022

  • The Under-23 World Wrestling Championship is held in Pontevedra, Spain.
  • Sajan Banwala won the bronze medal in the competition with Ukraine’s Dmytro Vasetskyi. From this evevnt, Sajan Panwala became the first Indian to win a medal in Greco-Roman category.

World Shooting Championship 2022

  • The World Shooting Championship is held in Cairo, the capital of Egypt.
  • In the junior men’s 10m air rifle event, the Indian team consisting of Ravi Shankar Sri Karthik Sabariraj, Divyanash Singh Panwar and Vidit Jain won the gold medal by beating China 17-11 in the final round.
  • Ramitha defeated China’s Ying Shen in the junior women’s individual 10m air rifle final to win the gold medal.
  • So far India is at the 2nd position with 25 medals including 10 gold, 5 silver and 10 bronze.

Appointed Alyssa Healy as Vice-Captain

  • Australia Cricket team has appointed star wicketkeeper-batsman Alyssa Healy as the vice-captain of the women’s team.
  • Healy takes the position of Rachel Haynes, who retired from international cricket last month.
