Nobel Prize in Economics -2022

  • Americans Ben Bernanke, Douglas W Diamond and Philip H. Dybvig has been received the noble prize for economics.
  • The prize is said to be given to them for their research on “banking and financial crises”.
  • So far 53 Nobel Prizes have been given for economics.

 Pakistani rupee becomes ‘world’s best performing currency’

  • Pakistan rupee has the special recognition of being the best performing currency in the world.
  • It also rises 3.9 percent to 219.92 against the US dollar.
  • Due to excessive foreign investment, the value of the Pakistani Rupee has increased.
  • Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz appointed Ishaq Dar as the new Finance Minister on September 28.

 New Indian Embassy  has Opened  in  New Zealand:

  • Union External Affairs Minister Jaishankar inaugurated the new Indian Embassy in Wellington, New Zealand.
  • Through this, cooperation between India and New Zealand is likely to increase in the fields of trade, electronics, agriculture, traditional medicine, education and maritime security.
  • Neetha Bhushan is appointed as Indian Ambassador to New Zealand.

Prime Minister announces India’s first solar powered village

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that Modera village in Gujarat’s Mexana district as India’s first solar village.
  • 1,300 solar panels have been installed on the roofs of houses in Modera village to provide 24-hours solar power. These are capable of producing one kilowatt of electricity.
  • This solar system is fully integrated with Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). This has made it possible to get electricity even at night.

 Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav passed away

  • Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav suffered for a breathing problem for a few days ago.
  • Following this, former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mulayam Singh Yadav passed away due to complications from treatment.
  • Samajwadi Party is one of the leading parties in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The party was founded by Mulayam Singh Yadav in 1992 when the Janata Dal split into several parties.

 Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone for many projects worth Rs 8000 crore

  • Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for several projects worth Rs 8000 crore at Amod Nagar in Baruch, Gujarat.
  • Prime Minister laid foundation stones for Total Pharmaceutical Park at Jambushar, Deep Sea Pipeline Project at Dahej, Phase 1 of Angleshwar Airport and Development of Multi-level Industrial Sheds at Angleshwar and Banoli.
  • The Prime Minister also launched several projects to boost the chemical industry in Gujarat including GACL plant, Baruch underground drainage and IOCL Dahej Goyali pipeline.

 Prime Minister inaugurated the first phase of Modi Shaikshanik Sangul Educational Complex in Ahmedabad

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates the first phase of Modi Shaikshanik Sangul, an educational complex for underprivileged students in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
  • The Prime Minister will also initiate and lay foundation stones for projects worth Rs 1,460 crore in Jamnagar. These projects are related to irrigation, electricity, water supply and urban infrastructure

 A new program called Tele-Manas introduced on the occasion of World Mental Health Day

  • Tele-Mental Health Assistance and Networking (Tele-Manas) has been launched across the states by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
  • 24X7 Tele-Mental Health Services Toll Free Number- 14416.23 Tele Mental Health Centers have been set up under this network.
  • Nimhans, Bengaluru and IIITB will be the nodal mentoring institutes.
  • At least one Tele-MANAS cell will be established in every State/UT to provide mental health services to all.

 CM launch the First Compressed Natural Gas station in Tamil Nadu

  • At the Secretariat, Chief Minister Stalin inaugurated the CNG station through a video conference.
  • AG & P Pratham has set up a liquefied gas station at Mantangal village in Ranipet district.
  • It is the first Compressed natural gas station in Tamil Nadu.

 Archaeological discoveries

A 400-year-old inscription has been found near Sivaganga.

  • Sivagangai District, Kalaiyar Temple Union, Paganeri, next town, 400 years old temple, reconstruction inscription found by Sivagangai Archaeological Team.
  • Archaeologists say that the inscription may be of the 15th or 16th century.

Djokovic wins the title of  Astana Open Tennis

  • Novak Djokovic (Serbia) defeated Chitsipa (Greece) in the singles final of the Astana Open International Tennis Tournament in Kazakhstan yesterday.
  • This is Djokovic’s fourth Wimbledon title of the year, including Tel Aviv title.
  • His total number of titles won rises to 90. And also he is in 5th place in the list of most title winners.

Max Verstappen wins Formula 1 ‘Championship’ title

  • The 2022 Formula 1 race will be held in 22 rounds around the world.
  • Max Verstappen (Netherlands) of Red Bull team won the 18th round of the Japan Grand Prix at Suzuka.
  • 2nd place went to another Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez (Mexico) and 3rd place to Monaco’s Charles Leclerc (Ferrari).

World Mental Health Day 2022:

  • It is observed on October 10 annually to spread awareness regarding mental health issues globally and to mobilise efforts in support of mental health.
  • The theme of World Mental Health Day 2022 is ‘Making Mental Health and Well-Being for all a global priority’.

 International Day of the Girl Child 2022

  • Since 2012, International Day of the Girl Child has been celebrated on October 11 every year.
  • Its main objective is to empower women and help them to get their rights so that they can face the challenges all over the world and meet their needs.
  • The theme of the day is “Our time is now—our rights, our future”.
