Prime Minister to lay foundation stone of world class Convention centre

  • Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, will lay the foundation stone of India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC) at Dwarka in New Delhi.
  • The IICC is being developed to promote meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) activities to attract and promote business and industry for growth of industrial development in the country.

Health Ministry launches sputum sample transportation

  • A pilot for utilising services of Department of Post for transport of sputum specimen for TB Diagnosis in Delhi was launched by the Health Ministry

West Bengal

New trekking route coming up in Mirik

  • The West Bengal State Tourism Department has decided to open a new trekking route in Mirik, passing through picturesque tea gardens, forests and mountains.

Odisha

Jharsuguda airport to be named as Veer Surendra Sai airport

  • The Odisha Assembly passed a unanimous resolution to name the newly-built Jharsuguda airport after noted freedom fighter Veer Surendra Sai. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the airport.

North Korea, Moon sign agreement on denuclearization

  • North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in signed an agreement on denuclearisation, reducing military tensions and defusing crisis on the peninsula in Pyongyang.

Nepal celebrates its Constitution Day

  • Nepal is celebrating its Constitution Day which is also known as the National Day. The new constitution of Nepal was promulgated on this day in 2015.

India, Romania agree to intensify cooperation at UN

  • India and Romania have agreed to intensify cooperation at the United Nations and other multilateral fora in order to address global challenges.

Cabinet approves ordinance making triple talaq a punishable offence

  • Union cabinet approved an ordinance making instant triple talaq a punishable offence with a three-year jail term.

Agreement between India and Morocco

  • India and Morocco signed the revised Air Services Agreement between the two countries enabling greater connectivity through a modernized agreement.

Exercise Aviaindra-18

  • Exercise Aviaindra is an Air Force level exercise between India and the Russian Federation is being conducted at Lipetsk, Russia from 17 Sep to 28 Sep 18 and will be conducted in Jodhpur, India from 10 Dec to 22 Dec 18.

North, South Korea agree to jointly bid for 2032 Olympics

  • North and South Korea agreed to prepare a joint bid for hosting the 2032 Summer Olympics, as part of agreements reached during the third inter-Korean summit of the year.

  • India’s Sajan Bhanwal has advanced to the finals of 77 kg Greco-Roman event in the Junior World Wrestling Championship at Trnava, Slovakia.
