Plastic ban implementation in Maharashtra to be stricter

  • Plastic ban implementation in Maharashtra is expected to be stricter as the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) has instructed its officials to initiate action against plastic manufacturers violating a ban imposed on the product in the state from October 1.

  • The Monsoon season has come to an end with a below normal showing this year as the country recorded a nine per cent deficit in rainfall. Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and northeastern states recorded the maximum deficiency.

Oil firms increaseATF prices by 7.25%

  • Aggravating the problem for loss-making airlines, oil marketing companies have increased the domestic Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices by 7.25% effective October 1.

RBI to inject Rs. 36,000 cr into system through purchase of government bonds

  • The Reserve Bank announced that it will inject 36,000 crore rupees into the system through purchase of government bonds in October to meet the festival season demand for funds.
