  • National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE), an autonomous institution under the Ministry has installed a remote sensing instrument- LiDAR for assessment of offshore wind resource at Gulf of Khambat, off the Gujarat Coast.

Rajasthan Cabinet clears loan guarantee to farmers

  • The Rajasthan Cabinet has decided to take a loan worth Rs.5,000 crore from the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) for funding the State government’s crop loan waiver scheme for farmers. The Cabinet has also relaxed the two-child norm for government employees.

  • The Commissionerate of Treasuries and Accounts, Government of Tamil Nadu, will be rolling out the Online Bill Passing System and e-SR (service record digitalisation) as a part of the Integrated Financial and Human Resource Management System, this October.

“Ganga Vriksharopan Abhiyan”

  • National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) is running “Ganga VriksharopanAbhiyan” in five main stem Ganga basin states – Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. The drive was launched on the 9th of this month, and the week upto 15th July was observed as ‘ShubharambhSaptah’.

MoU signed between CSIR-NPL and HPCL

  • CSIR- National Physical laboratory (NPL) has signed a MoU with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) for indigenous development of petroleum certified reference materials (CRMs) under trade name of Bhartiya Niredeshak Dravyas (BNDTM).

Fugitive offenders Bill passed

  • The Lok Sabha passed the Fugitive Economic Offenders Bill, which will now replace the Ordinance by the same name promulgated by the President in April.
