The Punjab State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has announced the schedule for the sample general examination to be held for all classes in state government schools from February 8, 2021.

New Method:
Generally, general examinations are conducted only for 10th and 12th class students. But the National Education Policy insisted that general examinations be held for students in grades 5, 8, 10 and 12 to implement the new system. Thus, the sample examinations will be held before the final examinations in order to remove the fear of the 5th and 8th class students about the general examination
Student Choices:
According to Punjab education sources, the decision has been taken to conduct sample exams from Class 1 to 12 this year to prepare students for the final exams as regular classes could not be held this year due to corona.
According to the instructions issued by the SCERT Director, pre-board examinations for Class 1 to 8 will be held both offline and online and students can choose one of two methods. However, exams from 9th to 12th class will be conducted offline only and students will have to register at the exam center if they want to take the exam directly.

Course:
Sample exams will ask questions from the complete syllabus from 1st to 5th class. Questions will only be asked from the reduced curriculum from 6th to 12th grade as schools have been closed due to corona infection for almost 10 months.
Education officials say that if the final exams are not held in March due to the corona, sample exams (before the final exams) may be held for all classes this year so that final results can be prepared based on the marks of these sample exams.
